There are two kinds of ways to write content on this site, Pages and Posts.
Pages contain static and non-changing information. For instance, the membership signup process does not get many updates, and is not time-oriented, so it is a Page. Most of the links in the upper left column are to Pages.
A notice about a field trip or fundraising event is a Post. A Post is
time and date-stamped, appears in the main news column, and may be placed into a specific category.
If you want your information to be perpetually linked on the main page, or if you want a single spot to keep information such as a list, you should create a Page. If you want to put up an interesting link to a news article or a notice about an event, that’s probably a post!
